Aisling, a scientist and passionate diabetes advocate, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in the mid-1980s. Across the decades, she has witnessed and embraced the evolution of diabetes care technology—from multiple daily injections (MDI) to pumping, CGMs, the community-led DIY Looping, and FDA-approved closed-loop systems—she’s done it all. 

Her journey provided provided her with a unique perspective on the American healthcare system, as the players have changed and costs have skyrocketed.

Motivated by her experiences, Aisling is dedicated to helping others understand their options and advocate for their own care, and to actively pursuing meaningful changes that prioritize a patient-focused approach in our healthcare system.
